This was my first time being a One Great George Street wedding photographer and I certainly hope there will be many more, if they’re as memorable as Christina and Jame’s wedding! It’s an iconic London venue surrounded by all sorts of architectural grandeur with its spectacular ballroom and rich history of some of the world’s most famous engineers. Check out the highlights from Christina and James’ wedding which had everything I love about a London wedding!

“Thank you so, so much Rik. They are beautiful.” – Christina & James

If you’re looking for inspiration for a classic, elegant London celebration, Christina and James’ wedding at One Great George Street was the perfect blend of heartfelt moments, stunning architecture, and joyful energy. As a One Great George Street wedding photographer, it’s one of those venues that always delivers something special – and this day was no exception.
Both Christina and James got ready at the venue, which made the morning feel beautifully calm and connected. With close family and friends around them, there was a relaxed, joyful energy in the air. They’d thought of everything, right down to engraved perfume bottles with their initials – a small but meaningful detail that felt so personal.
One of the standout moments of the morning was Christina’s reveal to her dad and family. The emotion in the room was incredibly moving, and her dad’s reaction when he saw her in her dress was just unforgettable – the kind of moment that reminds you why photographing weddings is so special.
The ceremony itself took place in one of One Great George Street’s grand rooms, and the couple made it truly their own by reading personal vows to each other. You could feel how much it meant to both of them. After a few nerves, the smiles came easily – and didn’t leave for the rest of the day.
My approach to couple shots at One Great George Street
While guests mingled downstairs with drinks and canapés, we snuck away for some couple portraits. The building is full of incredible photo opportunities – from the romantic ‘Romeo and Juliet’ balcony to the grand staircase that’s made for timeless portraits. Christina and James wanted their photos to feel relaxed and natural, so after a few indoor shots, we went for a walk towards Parliament just as the sun was setting. London gave us its very best light, and the mix of history, architecture, and a couple totally in love made for some gorgeous images.
After the wedding breakfast and some brilliant speeches, the evening really came alive with traditional Greek dancing – full of energy, laughter, and everyone getting involved. Once the formal dancing wrapped up, the party kicked off properly in the spectacular Great Hall. With its chandeliers, high ceilings, and incredible atmosphere, it’s a dream setting for a wedding party – and these guests made the most of every second.
